Sunset Music Publishing
Announces Licensing Deals for upcoming year.
The Sunset Records licensing
and publishing company, Sunset Music
Publishing announces new strategic
partnerships for companies to work its
catalog of recorded music.
Sunset Records announces a series of
licensing deals with music licensing
companies MTV.Soundtracks, Audiosocket,
Crucial Music, Carlson Entertainment,
RumbleFish, Gray V., Synchup, Songs For Your
Vision, Pump Audio, Ricall / Pure Play Music,
HD Music Now and with The Music Network for
the content to be included in their new
digital music licensing service and
Advertising Network. Sunset is a premier
Indy labels that has managed to sign music
over the last year and half, that cater to
every style and format needed for placement
in a film, TV and Ad.
All of these companies now have full access
of the tracks from a vast music catalogue,
with the opportunity to license these songs
to film, television, and advertising
companies in need of music. Don Lichterman,
the head of the Sunset Music Publishing
Company set his label group up with labels
from all genres for this ability to license
his catalog out to film, TV and Ad
Companies. “We have a catalog of recorded
music to work that is now spread out over
six (6) different labels with every style,
genre and format,” says Lichterman about his
Sunset label group, “which is appealing to
production companies.” Lichterman adds that
he also has “the ability to work well within
every budget.”
Sunset has been setting these companies up
with its’ entire catalog of music over the
last month. The label is also not stopping
at these deals. Lichterman says they are now
looking into deals to get the catalog out to
more of these types of licensing companies.
“We are now looking into working with other
companies in this same way.” Companies like
Telepictures Music, DMX, Pravda Music,
Konsonant, LaLa Music are all on the label
heads radar and he states that “we also want
to get into the in flight radio programs
that I listen to when I use the airlines to
travel.”
Throughout the remainder of this year and
into 2009 Sunset’s catalog of recorded music
will be worked out to these other ancillary
markets for the first time since starting to
sign new music. Sunset will now be marketed
directly to top studios, film companies,
advertising agencies and television programs
in the hope of placement of their music.
And, with the Music and Song Catalog Company
and its online digital service, they have a
network of top advertisers that have signed
up to be included in that system.
Don Lichterman says, "In the day and age
where everything is built on search engines,
it is no different within the licensing
world." “We have Steve Tilleli and Ric Laue
signed to our classical label and we have
Capt. Crunk and Blackwell signed to the
Sunset Urban label. Tropical Records has
started to sign new world music acts to add
to the Stondie (Caribbean) and Cryout
(Reggae) roster; we have Sunset Jazz
Recordings for jazz music and Sunset records
has the Federal Moguls, Blackbird,
Grayscale, The New Surreal, Richtaste,
TenPenny Joke and Zamza which all have their
very own alternative and pop rock style.”
Sunset spread its label group thin for the
purpose of licensing out its catalog of
recorded music.

Sunset has been expanding its distribution all year. "I

day,” says Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset. "You

Lichterman says about CBuJ’s staff.
CBuJ accounts for the
